These are unique specimens of Kyanite that contain Mica and Quartz inclusions.

The Kyanite blades are dark blue and the quartz matrix fills a lot of the space between the blades. Some of the quartz matrix is a reddish/pink color.

Kyanite is an aluminium silicate mineral. It occurs in high pressure metamorphic rocks, often in quartz veins. Kyanite is characterized by its colour (usually blue), differing hardness, perfect cleavage and bladed crystal form.
